Re-painting PMDG 747
Hi, here is a question for the painters out there.
I am trying to re-paint the PMDG 747 and I am having a little trouble with the side that is reversed. When do you flatten your layers? Before you flip it back or after? I can get the livery to show on the left side no problem but the right side is blank.
What I do is flip the image so that I writing the logo the right way round, flatten the layers and then flip it back and save the file. Any ideas what I am doing wrong?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards,
Dave

Re: Re-painting PMDG 747
Hi David

OK let’s see where I start,

It's a bit of a pain to paint the PMDG 747 you will see when you get to the tail
Well to start you should have a paint kit of right and a left side,

The left side should be PMDG_747_FUSE_LEFT_T
And the right side is PMDG_747_FUSE_RIGHT_T

Both of this files you will find them on PMDG747_400_PaintKit there are in PSD format

When you right text on the layers the text on the left should be the right way and the text on the right should be written the opposite way. Like a mirror image of each other.

I hope this has helped you on repaint hope to see them in the air sooner than later.Quote:

Re: Re-painting PMDG 747
Hi Francis,
thanks for the reply. It is the right side I'm having problems with. Trying to work out how to right backwards. All my attempts so far esult in a blank right side but a painted left. I haven't had much time lately and with my participation in the GAAR next month it will have to wait until the end of next month when I get some time off work. I'll let you know how it goes, hopefully wit a few pics.

Regards,
Dave

Re: Re-painting PMDG 747
Hi Dave

The first thing I do is type the desired text on the fuselage,
Doing it this way I know the size and font I would like,
Then I just get a new File.
This file I use it as blank transparent page so I can work with it.
What I do is re type the text again on the black page then I save it as an Adobe file
This way you and any layer to it and work with it as you like.
What I do next is simply flip the image and you just copy it and paste it over the to fuselage job done.

Also this way you have the same font for both sides of the fuselage.

I hope this has helped you with your problem.
