A NEW CONCEPT FOR AIRLINE ENTHUSIASTS BRINGING AIR TRANSPORT AND SIMULATION TOGETHER...

Welcome to worldairline.org which is a completely new concept for airline enthusiasts and MS Flight Simulator fans, bringing all categories of these hobbies together under "one roof". Our aim is to combine your searches for airline, airframe and related information together with the possibility of exploring the virtual skies from home - at your desk with Flight Simulator or perhaps even in your home made cockpit.

Worldairline.org is a natural phase of development in the Flight Simulator World that started for Nordic Air Group CEO Hans von Knorring with a B/W Flight Simulator 2.0 while serving in the Finnish Air Force in 1987. With the arrival of MSFS 4.0 it was even possible to fly some routes at home, but there was no www or internet foreseen in those days. Since the introduction of the internet a huge array of Virtual Airlines have formed with this the internet also lead to interest in simulated ATC which also soon became available.

Nordic Air was founded in 1997 in Stockholm and also introduced simulated ATC to Europe, then known as SATCA and was the first overseas division of SATCO, predecessor to VATSIM and IVAO as we know them today. Soon simulated ATC became it's own organization and Nordic Air Group, renamed as such in 1998, became the home & platform of a growing amount of Virtual Airlines.

The Virtual Airline scene changed during 2003-2007 very much, a large number of real commercial ventures operating under one brand increased but having aircraft and operating licenses from another lease or wet-lease only airline(s), this became known by IATA and so called Virtual Airlines. Another major change was the more strict copyright rules, these affected the traditional simulator Virtual Airlines but for some reason not the general flight simulator sites or indeed the airline enthusiast sites of airlines around of the world.

Thus we are now in 2010, as sister site to Nordic Air Group, worldairline.org are ready to take the next step ahead, our aim is to combine a traditional airline enthusiast site and the flight simulator community into a new way of looking at the our hobbies as one combined "Air Transport Desktop Hobby".

Our hope is that you will enjoy our site with all it has to offer and hopefully if you wish become a member, still called "pilot".

We welcome you to explore our world!
